Benefits of Membership in the
Canadian Forces Philatelic Society

  • CFPS Bulletin.   All members automatically receive the CFPS Bulletin by mail. The Bulletin contains articles by members and others; the CFPS Mail Auction; and news about all of the other activities open to CFPS members. The Bulletin is published 3 or 4 times per year, depending on the level of contributions. Non-members may subscribe to the Bulletin at the rate of $12.00 per year or $4.00 per copy.

  • Classified Advertising in the Bulletin.   Advertising in the Bulletin is offered at the rate of only Cdn$.10 per word, to members only. (Display advertising is available to non-members; rates on request to the Editor.)

  • Sales Circuit.   Members may buy or sell stamps through this circuit. Blank approval sheets are provided for sellers to mount their material for sale. The catalogue number, value and the selling price for each stamp is entered by the seller and the sheets are forwarded to the applicable sales manager who will send them on approval to customers who have requested that material. Sales are subject to a 5% sales commission and payments of net credit are forwarded to sellers periodically. Postage must be paid by the participants. Contact the Sales Circuit Manager by email.

  • Exchange Circuit.   This circuit provides a means of trading surplus stamps. Approval booklets are forwarded upon request for members to mount their exchange material, using current catalogue value as the basis of exchange. Completed booklets are forwarded to the exchange. A debit and credit entry system is used by the manager to record the value of stamps exchanged by each member. Postage must be paid by the participants.

  • CFPS Mail Auction.   Members wishing to sell material in the auction submit it to the auctioneer who lists the lots in each auction published in the Bulletin. The owner's minimum acceptable bid may be indicated and each lot must be of sufficient value to sell for at least $1.00. A one month deadline after Bulletin mailing is established for auction bids to be submitted to the auctioneer. Successful bidders are notified and billed for their purchase. All sales are subject to a commission of 5% and seller's credit are cleared after each auction. Material which does not sell initially is re-entered in the next auction but is returned to the owner if it does not sell the second time. Contact the Auctioneer by email.
